Deck the Halls

It's the Christmas season and all around us decorations are going up.   We have Christmas trees, garland, wreaths, snowmen, twinkling lights, and Santa Claus all over our homes and yards.  But in all the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, let us not forget to decorate our lives with the Word of God.

Let the Word of Christ - the Message - have the run of the house.  Give it plenty of room in your lives.
                                                            Col. 3:16 Message

Jesus is the Word made flesh (John 1:14) and He is the reason we celebrate Christmas.   We show Him honor by using the Word to transform our lives instead of letting the world decide how we should live.   Making room for the truth of the Word in your life, allows the Holy Spirit to work God's will in your life.

Keeping the Word of God in front of you is as simple as carrying a verse of scripture in your pocket or taping it to your bathroom mirror.  Purposely spending time time each day thinking about how you can live out the Word of God is another way of staying open to God.  Setting apart time for prayer and reading your Bible are also ways you give the Word room to work in your life.

Don't get discouraged when you behave badly but press on knowing that God is always faithful to His word.  Mat. 6:33 tells us that when we seek God and His way of living, we will find all of our needs met.  Don't give up.  Don't disqualify yourself.  Your life will be full and richly blessed when you keep your heart set on the Word.

Deck the halls of your life with the blessings of God by spending time coloring your life with God's Word.
