Open Lives Pt 6
Well I did not think today's blog would be about living open to God (2 Cor. 6:13 Message) but it is.
For in Him the whole fullness of Deity (the Godhead) continues to dwell in bodily form [giving complete expression of the divine nature]. And you are in Him, made full and having come to fullness of life [in Christ you too are filled with the Godhead -- Father, Son and Holy Spirit -- and reach full spiritual stature]. And He is the Head of all rule and authority [of every angelic principality and power].
Col. 2:9-10 Amplified
Every aspect of God's nature is in Christ, is in you. You have the power and ability in you to reach your full potential. God has opened all of Himself to you. He has given you unlimited access to all His love, all His wisdom, all His mercy, and all His power. God has given everything to you. You can live as close to God as you want.
God has done His part by giving you full access to Him. How much of God you have active in your life is your choice. What you choose to do with the time you have been given on this earth will either close your life to God or open it. You cannot have more of God without the investment of time.
If you want all of God you can get and if you really want to imitate Jesus Christ then you are going to have to spend time with God. Using your time to read the Bible, think about what it means and how to apply it to your life will keep you open to God. Prayer is another opportunity to open up with God. Prayer is a time of two way conversation between you and God. You share what's on your mind and in your heart then you stop and listen for God's response. You discuss what you have read and your understanding of it. Included with prayer is your obedience to what God speaks to you.
Supporting the body of Christ through serving in your local church is another way to access the fullness of God in you. Paul repeatedly reminds us in all his letters to reach out to others and help in any way we can as a demonstration of our faith in Christ. Living open to God keeps our minds open to the different ways we can help people.
Time is the key that opens your life to God and allows you to manifest His love and power.
