Expecting
Over two thousand years ago, Mary was expecting more than a baby. Because she kept the words of God hidden in her heart about the wonderful things her baby would do, I imagine that she was also expecting great things to happen throughout her Son's life.
As I continued to think about what Mary may have expected after the birth of her child, I realized that we all have expectations. So, I asked my self: What am I expecting?
At this moment I am waiting for God to reveal some key pieces of information to me. I know the answer is coming soon but I have no idea what it will be. In years past this would have caused me to fret and have many sleepless nights. This year though, I have complete confidence that at the right time, God will show me what I need to know when I need to know it.
Now I want to ask you: What are you expecting?
Have you given any thought to what God has prepared for you this next year? Now is a good time to start thinking and praying for what is to come.
The Lord is good to those who wait hopefully and expectantly for Him, to those who seek Him [inquire of and for Him and require Him by right of necessity and on the authority of God's word].
Lam. 3:25 Amplified
Like small children waiting for Santa, God wants us to wait for Him. Think about what you do that makes you happiest and ask God to show you how to use it to bless others. Then with great anticipation, wait for Him to reply.
Engage yourself in this abundant life by expecting God to speak to your heart, to reveal His plans for you, and to give you the wisdom and ability to reach your full potential. Know that God will open doors for you that no man can shut.
Nothing in your heart is too big or too small for you to lay at the feet of Jesus. Look to Him expectantly.
