Out With The Old, In With The New
Every December I spend some time reflecting on the previous year. I look at the growth I've had and how God has moved in my life to cause the growth.
I review the struggles I've come through and the lessons I learned in them. I try to remember what my goals were when the year first started but I usually can't recall them so I start to look at the year ahead.
I try to think of a few things that I would like to see changed in my life. I lay this all out before God and then carry on only to repeat the process the next December.
This year was differentfor me. Hugely different.
I used something called My One Word and I must say it was an overwhelming success. My one word is a website (myoneword.org) and it is designed to help you stay on track throughout the year.
Instead of having a list of things to focus on, you pick one quality or characteristic of Jesus Christ that you want to develop in your life. They guide you through the process from choosing your word to keeping it in front of you by sending weekly emails with an online private journal for you to chart your progress.
Because I stuck to this plan, I am looking back at this last year in amazement. God has done so much in me and through me.
Every area of my life has been changed by my one word. I am not going to tell you what my one word was but I do recommend this website if you want to experience personal growth through a deeper relationship with Jesus.
