Reach Out and Touch Someone
Because there is one loaf, our many-ness becomes one-ness--Christ doesn't become fragmented in us. Rather, we become unified in Him. We don't reduce Christ to what we are; He raises us to what He is.
1 Cor. 10:17 The Message
This is a great picture of how Jesus brings us all together making one body - His body. He raises us up to His level and places His Spirit within us making us one. This is part of God's nature, to give to us the best of Himself. His plan does not include letting us wallow around in our sinfulness but it is about promoting us to what He knows we are capable of doing.
We are not only connected to each other in the body of Christ but we are also connected to God. The fullness of God is in Jesus Christ (Col. 2:9) and since Jesus is in us then so is the nature of God. In Jesus Christ we become one with God. Jesus came from God to save us and just like kids who run by each other and grab a hand to pull others along with them, we are to do the same thing in our daily lives.
Extending our hand in friendship is the easiest way to reach out.
Share with others what God has done for you. Has He opened a door you thought was closed? Did He help you through a tough time? Talk about what God has given you.
Don't let others miss out on the priceless gift of life in Christ because you did not put out your hand.
Reach out, grab a hand, and let God be praised.
