Homeward Bound

None of us right now are perfectly Christ-like but each of us are on our way.  We are works in progress hence we are "coming to Christ."  Everyday as we learn more about God, as we read our Bibles, as we learn and grow we come closer to Christ-likeness.

You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God's temple.  He was rejected by people, but He was chosen by God for great honor.  And you are living stones that God is building into His spiritual temple.
                                                                1 Peter 2:4-5 NLT

Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End (Rev. 1:8).  Our lives begin and finish in Christ.  He is our final destination when we leave this earth.

Our time in this world is full of experiences that allow us to become all that God created us to be.  We are alive, moving, and changing.  We are growing and maturing as we pursue the One who has saved us.

On our adventure of life we will find ourselves going through all kinds of seasons - hot, cold, new, old, good, bad, easy, and hard.  Some of these pass quickly while others seem to linger for long periods of time.

No matter where you are in life or what your situation looks like to you, God has a plan and a purpose for your life.  He will never leave you nor forsake you.  He is watching over you and providing for you.  Nothing you need escapes His notice.  No word you speak is unheard.  No cry you make is forgotten.  God works every moment of your life out for good, even when you do not understand what is going on.

Everything we need for success is found in the Bible.

If you are going through tough times or unsure of how something is going to work out, the Bible says to trust God above all things and follow Him (Prov. 3:5-6).

When your heart is aching or broken and you are grieving a loss, share all your hurts and cares with God (1 Peter 5:7).  Not only will He listen but He will help you through.

Answered prayers should always be celebrated with thanks and shouts of joy (Psalm 35:18).

It's interesting to me how the weight of sadness is cut in half when it is shared but the joy of victory when it is shared is doubled!

Facing a battle requires you to put on the armor of God and stand your ground (Eph. 6:11-18).

Remain thankful every step of the way.  Remember God's faithfulness and rely on Him for strength and wisdom (Psalm 50:14-15, 23).

When people hurt or wound you, do not seek vengeance.  Instead let God, Who is bigger and stronger than you, take care of it (Prov. 20:22).

Individually, we are the temple of God (1 Cor. 6:19) and collectively we are the temple of God with each of us being living stones.  We are alive to the ways and purposes of God and through our lives, God is glorified.  As we seek Him and surrender to Him, His light and His life consume us causing our very nature to reflect and honor Him.

God's word is true and in it you will find everything you need to face and overcome the ups and downs of life in this world.
