What to Give

As believers in Jesus Christ, we all carry the authority to reach out and help others in His name.  Helping people is what Jesus did and He wants us to continue doing it.

As Peter and John were walking into the temple, a lame man lying on the ground asked them for some money.

But Peter said, "I don't have any silver or gold for you.  But I'll give you what I have.  In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!"
                                                                Acts 3:6 NLT

Peter clearly stated he has no money to give this man but he freely gave what he had been given through Jesus Christ.  There were no accusations made toward this crippled man.  No questions asked.  Peter simply gave.

Too many people disqualify themselves from serving God because they don't have material possessions or money to give away.  All that is required to help others like Jesus did is a heart motivated by love and wrapped in gratefulness for the mercy received from God through Christ.

Every one of us is called to share the love and knowledge of Jesus Christ that we have received.  We don't have to be ministers or pastors for the power of the Holy Spirit to move through us and help those around us.

God only asks us to give what He has given to us so freely and without limit and that is love.  God loves people.  He made us in His image and He wants us to share our lives with Him and with each other.  Genuine concern for each other is the greatest gift we can give to one another.

When we care about others, we reach out to them.  This simple act speaks to the hearts of people, telling them they are valuable and have worth.  Sharing the love that Jesus has poured into our lives is the greatest act of caring I can think of.

People all over the world are looking to material possessions or emotional highs to feed the inner longing in their hearts to be loved, accepted, and valued.

In Christ, you have what they are searching for.  Reach out to others and give from your heart today.

Show someone you care - share the love of God.
