Mercy
Yesterday I listened to the book of Matthew while I was running. My mind must have been on something else because only these three words caught my attention: ask for mercy (Matt. 18:25).
Given as a gift, forgiveness is not truly ours until we ask for it.
I recently had to apologize to someone because I was harboring hurt feelings and this had strained our relationship. It had taken me a long time to realize it and when I did, I knew I needed to say "I'm sorry. I was wrong."
My question for you is: Who do you need to apologize to? Why are you waiting?
The response to your request is not what releases you. Humbling yourself does. Ask now for mercy.
Freedom comes with forgiveness.
