The Right Thing

The topic of doing the right thing has been a reoccurring theme for me lately.

         The Lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just than when we offer Him sacrifices.
                                         Prov. 21:3 NLT


         Guard My common good: do what's right and do it in the right way.
                                         Isa. 56:1 Message


         But there will be glory and honor and peace from God for all who do good - for the Jew first and also for the Gentile.  For God does not show favoritism.
                                         Rom. 2:10-11 NLT

As followers of Christ we are held to a higher standard of living.  The excuse that "everyone else is doing it" is not a reason for us to avoid doing the right thing.

We are to live like Christ in this world.  He did not give in to peer pressure.  He spoke out against injustice, reached out to provide for the hungry, cared for the sick, and He obeyed the laws of God and man.

We are to imitate Christ all the time, every time.  It does not matter if we are alone or in a group, doing what's right does not change.

Being a Christian means we do the right thing even when no one is watching.

Doing what is right and good is part of living God first.
