What you talking 'bout?

Our words impact our lives and the people around us.

The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.
                                          Prov. 18:21 NLT

There are several places in the Bible that warn us to be careful with our words.  Just in Prov 18 alone there are 12 of the 24 verses that deal with the consequences of what we say.

Wise people choose their words carefully.  They pause and think about what they are going to say before they start speaking.  Their words encourage growth without condemnation.

With our words, we set limits and boundaries for our life and the lives of others.  We eat well from the words of our mouth.  Wise words satisfy us like a good meal and serve a feast to others.

Speaking God's word releases His power in every situation.  It keeps us safely under God's protection.  Our words are a declaration of what and who we are trusting.

Pay attention to what you say.  Are your words arrows of praise and encouragement producing growth?  Or are they critical and judgmental bringing destruction?

Using your words to help others is part of living God first.  Know that your words are valuable instruments that can keep others safely on the path of God.

Your words have power.  Use them to do good in the lives of every person you talk to today.
