The Center

At the center of all this, Christ rules the church.  The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church.  The church is Christ's body, in which He speaks and acts, by which He fills everything with His presence.
                                  Eph. 1:22-23 Message

What really struck me about these verses is the fact that the church has been removed from the center of life and is no longer the standard by which people live.

The church was designed to be the center of life because it is the body of Christ.  Through the local church the love of God is revealed.

He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join Him in the work He does, the good work He has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.
                                    Eph. 2:10 Message

We have been created by God to be co-laborers with Jesus.  This means we have a vital role to play in God's plan to bring salvation to the world.

The church is the vehicle God intended to transport the message of salvation to the world.  The ability of the church to help people is limited when you are missing or out of place.

God has a place for you in the church.  You need to be in your place, doing what God called you to do so the church can do what God created it to do.

People need the hope of Christ that can only be demonstrated through the church.  Our life with Christ is connected to and dependent upon our involvement with a local church.

The strength of the church depends on you doing your part.
