The Godly Life

We who are strong must be considerate of those who are sensitive about things like this.  We must not just please ourselves.  We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord.
                                       Rom. 15:1-2 NLT

God has made us mentors.  He wants us to help each other out as we learn to live a godly life in an ungodly world.  We are not to limit our ability to impact others by living only to please ourselves.

And the scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for Gods promises to be fulfilled.  May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you to live in complete harmony with each others as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus.
                               Rom. 15:4-5 NLT

We are all disciples of Christ - learning to live God's way in this world while helping others do the same.  Instead of being in competition with each other, God wants us to live harmoniously.

The following list is not inclusive but is merely a starting place for living a godly life.

- Accept people where they are.  None of us are perfect.

- Be considerate of others and don't make things harder for them.

- Live in harmony with all people.  You do not have to agree on everything to be respectful.

- Stop judging and criticizing people.  We all make mistakes and get things wrong.  Humility increases your influence.

- Don't force your opinions on others.

- Let people live in the freedom of Christ.  Don't make them conform to your personal rules.

- Build each other up, don't tear them down.

- Encourage others, not discourage them.

- Include all people, not exclude them.

Help others on their journey with God.  Don't be a roadblock to their progress.
