Harmony
How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!
Psalm 133:1 NLT
Harmony. I haven't thought about this word in a long time and reading this today reminds me of how important it is to God.
The whole of Psalm 133 describes the benefits and blessings of harmony. It is pleasant and refreshing. It is also the place God has pronounced His blessing: life everlasting.
The Message Bible says:
How wonderful, how beautiful, when brothers and sisters get along!
Psalm 133:1
We are so quick to point out the differences and mistakes of others then group or label them accordingly. We seem to forget that we all make mistakes and that every person is uniquely made by God and through Christ is made acceptable to Him.
Paul in the book of Romans (chapter 12) advises us to get along with everyone and to discover the beauty of God that is in each of us, to treat all people the same and refuse to be stuck up.
Our equality before God is the example of how we are to view and treat each other (Ephesians Chapters 2-4).
Instead of tearing each other apart, let's purpose to add beauty to our lives by living in harmony.
When we accept each other like Jesus accepts us, we stop evil from gaining the upper hand in our lives.
