No Excuses

God knows what you know.

Don't excuse yourself saying, "Look we didn't know."  For God understands all hearts, and He sees you.  He who guards your soul knows you knew.  He will repay all people as their actions deserve.
                               Prov. 24:12 NLT

God wants you to be honest with Him.  He knows what is in your heart and on your mind.  Your good behavior will not hide selfish or bitter motives from Him and your excuses have no weight.

Often times, we don't want to address certain issues within ourselves,  so we try to keep them hidden.  We make excuses for our behavior because of what has happened in the past.  Failure to acknowledge and look at these things results in inner turmoil and frustration.  It allows fear to have power over us and stops us from growing.  We cannot get out of this struggle without first coming clean with God.

Unlike with people, there is safety in being vulnerable with God.  He will not reveal your shame or belittle you or condemn you.  What He does want, is to help you grow.  God cannot move on your behalf in a situation without you first being honest with Him about what is in your heart.

In the process of being honest with God we will find honesty within ourselves.

God requires honesty not for our condemnation or punishment but for our growth.
