Spiritual Blessings 1

Since the eating of the apple and the entrance of sin into our lives, many people have missed out on the blessings God has had planned for us.

Our sin blinds us to the truth of God’s word.  Fear keeps us chained to our past and has us going in circles around the same old issues.  Too often we look at our circumstances and think they are bigger than God. 

            All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. 

                              Eph. 1:3 NLT   

As a new believer I would often celebrate that I’d been given “every spiritual blessing” without ever taking the time to consider or think about exactly what those blessings were.  I was just excited that they had been given to me.  My lack of knowledge about the blessings of God prevented me from really living the life Jesus died for me to have. 

Spiritual blessings come to us when we accept Jesus Christ and what He did on our behalf.  These blessings are our gifts from God.  He wants us to have them and He wants us to live them. 

To live God's blessings means that you consider and view your life and the world around you through the belief that God's blessings and promises are real and they are immovable.  From this perspective, God and His promises are bigger and stronger than anything you encounter.

God's promises and blessings cannot be taken from you but in order to have them you must know in your heart that they are yours.   

My prayer for you is that through this series you will not only learn about the many privileges and the abundance of God but that you will truly live them.
