He Understands

There is so much need in the world today.  Tornadoes have destroyed communities and shredded neighborhoods, earthquakes have demolished whole towns and cities, flood waters are rising, and wildfires continue to burn out of control.  And don't me get started on all the human needs - the poor, the abused, the unemployed, the sick, and the homeless.

How does one help when the need is so great?

Prayer is one way that every single person can be involved.

The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
                                       James 5:16 NKJ

Prayer is simply a conversation with God.  We can sit down and just talk to Him about what is going on in our lives and around the world.

Sometimes we can be so overwhelmed by it all that we don't know where to start.  But the Holy Spirit does.

Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses.  For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
                                      Rom. 8:26 NKJ

God gave us the Holy Spirit to help us in so many ways and prayer is one of them.  When we don't know what to say or what to ask for - He does.  The Holy Spirit translates our sighs and groanings to God.  He understands us.

Acknowledging God's presence is the beginning of all prayer.   Acknowledging His ability to meet the need sets the Holy Spirit in motion.

Prayer is powerful.  It unleashes all the resources of heaven into a situation and brings glory to God.

There is no formula to prayer.  Don't fret about what to say.  Just lay out your concerns before God.  Say what's on your mind and speak your heart.  Even when you cannot put words to your prayers, God knows just what to do.  He knows exactly what you mean.

God understands your heart even when you cannot put its contents into words.

Silent prayers are just as strong and effective as prayers with words.
