Open Door
Have you ever stayed in a hotel with an adjoining room? Each room has a door that opens from the inside and both doors have to be open in order to go into the other room.
Our relationship with Jesus and our access to all His gifts and blessings are like that. We are in one room and God and His kingdom in the other. God's door is always wide open. Our door is not.
Our door gets unlocked when we recognize in our hearts that Jesus is real and it opens a little bit when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We still have our hand on the doorknob and we keep the door open only so much. We occasionally peak at what's in the kingdom of God but we never really enjoy all the benefits of belonging there.
Trust in God is what causes us to open that door all the way. The more we trust Him, the more we can receive from Him.
God throws open His door giving us full access to His kingdom the moment we accept Jesus. We, however, cannot receive anything without first trusting God. Our confidence in God enables us to open our door wide and move freely between the two areas.
You cannot receive something you do not believe in.
Receiving from God is only possible when we decide in our heart to trust Him.
Our trust in God is reflected in how we live our lives and respond under pressure. People who really trust God do not fly off the handle or lose control. Their confidence in God and what He can do is greater than the perceived threat of any situation.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will direct your paths.
Prov. 3:5-6 NKJ
Trust God with everything. Look to Him for the answers to your questions. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He is always faithful, always kind, always loving.
I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God.
1 Cor. 2:5 NLT
Open your door with the decision to trust God for all your needs.
