Riches of Grace
He is so rich in kindness and grace that He purchased our freedom with the blood of His Son and forgave our sins.
Eph. 1:7 NLT
Rich in grace...it is so very different from what it means to be rich in the world. God's wealth, His riches, are not in possessions but in His ability to extend mercy to the undeserving simply because He chooses to.
The grace of God is given to us through the blood of Jesus Christ. His blood was the complete and total payment of our debt to sin. It is the only thing that can restore fellowship between a holy God and fallen mankind.
Knowing in advance that sin would separate us, God decided to treat us with love, compassion, and mercy irregardless of how bad we mess up. He used the blood of His Son to meet the demand required by His justice for the forgiveness of our sin so that we could live in close intimate contact with Him.
Blood is always required to wash away and remove sin. Under the Old Covenant the blood of animals was used but it never fully did the job. That's why they had to keep sacrificing animals year after year. The blood of animals was not enough. The pure holy blood of Jesus Christ is.
The power of the blood of Jesus was poured out on us so that we can live free from the weight and condemnation of sin.
There is untold, unexplored power in the blood of Jesus. It has the ability to transform our image before God and our voice in the ears of angels. It has the power to remove our sin and the power to make us holy, the power to protect and defend us, and the power to heal our broken hearts and bodies. The power in the blood of Jesus is the only means of establishing a right relationship with God (Rom. 3:22-24).
God's grace is carried into our lives through the movement of the blood of Jesus Christ over us.
