Being Willing

I've been thinking about being willing since yesterdays post.  Every step we take closer to God and with Him begins with our willingness.

               If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land;
                              Isa. 1:19 NKJ

Here again like yesterday's verse (Psalm 51:12) the word willing is connected with obeying.  I came up with my own list of things that are connected with being willing.

     Willing to believe.
     Willing to trust.
     Willing to pray.
     Willing to love.
     Willing to give.
     Willing to forgive.
     Willing to receive - forgiveness, grace, love, peace.
     Willing to release - things, bitterness, concerns.

In Mat. 8:2 a leper comes to Jesus saying, "If you are willing, You can make me clean."  As Jesus heals him, He says "I am willing."  Being willing, makes us imitators of Christ.

Here is my prayer for today, I share it in the hope of helping you grow in willingness.

            I am willing to surrender all to You, Jesus.  I want to be like You.  Have Your way in me.  I want to see what You see and hear what You hear so I can respond like You.  I am Yours, Lord.  You are mine.  Thank you, Jesus. Amen.

Be willing to live God first.
