God-Traveled
God lives in us through Jesus. Every where we go, He goes with us. The great thing about this is that even though we cannot see it in the day to day life we live, our path is always moving us closer to God. He is the prize at the end of our journey.
And how blessed all those in whom You live, whose lives become roads you travel; they wind through lonesome valleys, come upon brooks, discover cool springs and pools brimming with rain! God-traveled, these roads curve up the mountain, and at the last turn -- Zion! God in full view.
Psalm 84:5-7 The Message
I like the idea here that my life is a road traveled by God. He has promised to never leave us nor forsake us (Deut. 31:6), so no matter what we encounter on our way, He will be there with us.
Life is like a great adventure. Each one of us has our own adventure to live with God. That is why it is futile to compare ourselves to one another. We were not made by God to imitate each other but to imitate Jesus Christ.
Be who God made you to be and do what He asks you to do.
People tend to over look the impact we can make in our daily lives. We discredit our ability to make a difference in the world because we forget that it starts with one. Remember the story of the 99 sheep (Luke 15:4-7). The shepherd goes to look for the one missing.
The value of the individual "one" to God is immeasurable by human standards. Every time we reach out and help some one, we are reaching out to the "one" that is on God's heart at that moment. That is why I want to live with God - I don't want to miss the one.
You don't need to be known around the world to make a huge difference in the lives of people. You don't need the praise or accolades of men to be successful in God's eyes. Simply live your life with God and do what you can for the "one" that is in front of you.
At the end of your adventure, you will see God fully and His plan will make sense. Then you can understand why things happened the way they did. Then you will see how God has traveled with you.
What are you doing with God today?
