His Home
What a beautiful home, God of the Angel Armies! I've always longed to live in a place like this, always dreamed of a room in Your house, where I could sing for joy to God-alive!
Psalm 84:1-2 The Message
Every time I read these verses I am reminded of a vision I had when I first met Jesus. It is too long for one post, so I will spread it out over a couple of days.
I was standing in front of the most beautiful house I had ever seen. It was His house and He was sitting on the front porch in a swing. Jesus waved and asked if I wanted to swing with Him. It was so easy to be with Him. We talked about everything and we talked about nothing.
I don't know exactly how long we sat there but we talked about all kinds of things. We laughed and had a great time. There were several periods of silence as we sat quietly enjoying the easy back and forth movement of the swing. I was so comfortable with Him.
Jesus asked if I wanted to go inside His house. I wanted to so badly but I was covered in sin and I knew I was was not good enough to enter such a lovely place. As He stood at the door, He turned and said, "Come on." I could not resist. I followed Him in. My heart was pounding and my mouth was dry. I was going into His house! WOW!
In the entry way, everything from the outside was removed. My sin was taken away. I put down my old way of thinking and all the preconceived notions I'd had about Him. Things like disrespect, rebellion, and hatred had no place here. He wrapped me in love and asked if I wanted a tour of the house. I could only nod as words were beyond me at the moment.
To the left of the entry way was a study. The walls were lined with books and there were two big soft leather chairs in front of a gorgeous brick fireplace. The fire was roaring but it did not raise the temperature of the room like the fireplace at my house. We sat down and Jesus picked out a book and began to teach me. This is where I learned who God really is.
That's all for now. Have a great day.
