More of His Home

This is the second post about a vision I had when meditating on Psalm 84.  It is a picture of living in God's house with Jesus.

What a beautiful home, God of the Angel Armies!  I've always longed to live in a place like this, always dreamed of a room in Your house, where I could sing for joy to God-alive!
                              Psalm 84:1-2 The Message

Across the hall from the study is the living room.  There are no walls and no TV in this room as this is where Jesus and I play.  The light seems to reflect joy and there is much laughter.  We have a lot of fun here.

At the back of His house is the kitchen and dining room.  We work together in the kitchen cutting, mixing, and preparing.  There are always things that need attention in me and this is where we do that.  Jesus sprinkles in the spices that help me become more like Him.

Kindness, gentleness, and patience are a few of the items that are added every time we come in here.  Judgmental attitudes and pride are are cut off.  Some of our work has to bake in the oven and other things have to set in the fridge.  Either way, Jesus knows the recipe and I follow His directions.

The dining room is connected to the kitchen.  Meals are leisurely and every dish enjoyed.  Love keeps the conversation flowing.  The dining area is casual and can easily accommodate just the two of us or a large crowd without losing the sense of closeness.  There is a great deal of intimacy here as we eat and drink, ever mindful of His sacrifice for me.

After the meal there is clean up.  It takes no time for us to wash and put everything away.  Part of clean up does include taking out the trash.  Everything that was cut away or removed before the meal is thrown out.

Upstairs are the bedrooms where we can rest and get refreshed.  The beds are big and comfy with just the right balance of softness and firmness.  Sleep is peaceful and dreams are sweet.

As you can see, living with Jesus includes time for fun, work, refreshment, rest, and study.  There is nothing unimportant in your life.  Whatever concerns you have can be brought to Jesus with confidence as He will never put you down.  His love is beyond our human understanding.  Each day Jesus will reveal more and more of His love for you.

Think about God's house and imagine what it is like from your perspective.

Live each day with Jesus, include Him in all you do.
