Trust God's Love

For several days, I have been thinking about part of this verse:

              For we know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in His love.  God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.
                              1 John 4:16 NLT

Put our trust in His love. 

Trust in God's love.

Many of us say that we trust in the love of God but when trouble comes, we get consumed with fear.  Letting fear motivate us means we are not secure in God's love.

With confidence in the love of God, our response to fear should be the same as if we put our hand down on a piece of wet already been chewed gum.  We look at it with disgust as we immediately fling it into the trash can saying,  "This is gross!" 

In 1 John 4:18 it says, "Perfect love casts out all fear."  Our belief in God's perfect love for us allows us to get rid of fear.  So, today I say - throw down your fears and trust in the love of God.

There is no room for fear in a heart that trusts in God's love.

Our trust in the perfect love of God keeps us immune to the effects of fear and strengthens us to carry on.
