Unfailing
I have been thinking about how enormous and magnificent God's love for us is. Do you ever think about how much God loves you?
But You, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.
Psalm 86:15 NLT
God is love (1 John 4:16) and this is nothing like what we see or experience with other people. It does not matter how many times we mess up or what we have done, God always forgives us completely when we apologize. Love overlooks our imperfections, every time.
God is the One who totally understands us. As our Creator, He knows what we are made of. He understands human nature far better than we do and He still loves us unfailingly.
We are loved by God for who we are and not what we do or have and it never stops. His love for us is genuine, always looking for ways to do something great just for us.
Everyday He does something to remind us of His love and it is done according to our likes and desires. For me, God reminds me of His love in things from nature like the rays of sunshine that come through the clouds, rainbows, or a lovely garden. How does God remind you about His great love?
The love of God cannot be compared to how other people love us. People may withhold or withdraw love based on our behavior, God never does. People get their feelings hurt and retaliate by hurting us back, God never does. People often put their own desires before those of anyone else, God never does.
There is nothing in this world that can completely describe or contain God's unfailing love for us.
What really blows me away is how God can be so intimate and personal with each of us as if we were the only one He loves. He speaks our "love language" to us in ways that other people cannot. His knowledge of us is not hindered in any way. He knows what we want but He also knows what is the best for us.
Nothing bad in life comes to us from God. He will take the situations that cause us pain and turn them into blessings. His love is so pure that He can do nothing but good for us.
God's love for you does not change in any circumstance, it is unfailing.
