Using Your Past

Many of us have done things in the past that we are not proud of.  Guilt and shame cause us to keep our past hidden.  But God already knows all about it.  He was with us then (even if we did not know Him) and He is still with us.

               For I will forgive their iniquity and their sin I will remember no more.
                              Jer. 31:34 NKJ

When we come to Jesus and ask Him to forgive us, He does.  God's forgiveness is so complete that He removes every trace of our sin so that when He looks at us we are perfect and blameless.

Sometimes, our past is very painful.  Maybe we were hurt or mistreated by the people who were supposed to be taking care of us and we now ask why God would allow such a thing to happen.  While I have no answers to the "Why" questions what I can tell you is that God was with you and if you will surrender all the hurt and anger from your past to Him, He will use it for good.

            And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
                              Rom. 8:28 NKJ

God uses everything we give Him to do good.  Always.  Love uses even the painful experiences of life to bring about peace and joy.  God cannot make us whole without us first totally surrendering to Him and that includes our past.

If you will give it to Him, God will take your past and use it to make your present and your future whole.

Don't let your past limit who you can become. 

Let go of your past and receive from God a whole and abundant life.
