New Thoughts

Jesus came to give us life and life more abundant (John 10:10) but in order to have and live this promise from God we have to learn to live God's way and not like our society does.

Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].
                              Rom. 12:2 Amplified

Changing the way you think will change your life.  Instead of believing what you've heard in the past, choose to believe what God says.  Recognize that God is talking to you in the Bible.  His promises are for you.  He wants you to live freely in His love.

The word of God has the power to transform your life (Heb. 4:12) but only when you make the effort to learn and believe it.  With diligence and patience, as you accept what God says over anything else, you will find your life free from the chains of insecurity and fear.

Here are just a few Bible verses that can be used to help you overcome self defeating thoughts.

- I am a new creation in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17)
- I am a child of God and He loves me greatly (Gal 3:26/1 Thes. 1:4)
- I am made in the image of God (1 Cor. 11:7)
- My work is blessed (Deut. 28:3)
- My strength is renewed every day (Isa. 40:31)
- God has chosen me and He will never let me go (Isa. 41:9)
- No weapon formed against me can prosper or stand (Isa. 54:17)
- God has a plan and a purpose for my life (Jer. 29:11)
- God works everything out in my life for my good (Rom. 8:28)

There are also some passages of scripture that will help you.

- Psalm 23
- Deut. 28:1-14
- Psalm 103:1-5
-1 Cor. 13:4-8

And I cannot end without mentioning that it is possible for you to have and know the thoughts of God.

... But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.
                              1 Cor. 2:16 NLT

What God says about you is the absolute truth.
