Thoughts In Action

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
                              Prov. 7:23 Amplified

You are what you think you are.  Sounds brutal, but it is the truth.  God gave us the ability to choose what we think and we have two choices: believe God or believe people.

If you believe people and think negative thoughts toward yourself, your life will be miserable.  I know this because I used to think that way.  I also know that when I believed those negative things about myself that I acted in ways that seemed to cause people to stay away from me.

Here's an example of what I mean.  If you are always critical of other people and mentally putting them down then you will be empty and insecure because you will never feel that you are good enough.  These thoughts will cause you to act snobbish, rude, and haughty and people will not want to be around you.

A critical attitude creates a vicious and defeating cycle of negativity that will stop you from living a good life.

In John 10:10 Jesus tells us that the devil came only to steal, kill, and destroy.  Negative thoughts do the work of the devil in our lives by keeping us captive to fear and insecurity and preventing us from living the life that Jesus died for us to have.

Negative thoughts produce negative lives.

Keeping our thoughts focused on God's word and what He says about us enables us to live a good life.  God has given us life changing promises through Jesus Christ and all we have to do to have them is believe.

We'll talk more about that tomorrow.

Pay attention to your thoughts today.
