What's On Your Mind?
Have you ever stopped and thought about what you are thinking about? Do you ever listen to yourself think? What kind of thoughts fill your mind most of the day?
I ask these questions because what you think about matters. What you think about determines the path you take. If your mind is full of negative thoughts then your life will lack peace and joy.
Negative thoughts produce self-centered actions and self-centered actions keep your focus only on what you can and can't do and what you do and don't have.
The Bible says to keep our minds set on higher things.
And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth.
Col. 3:2 Amplified
In order to live the abundant life Jesus promises in John 10:10 we have to pay attention to what we are thinking about. For example, if you are always thinking that people don't like you then people are not going to like you. Why? Because this kind of thinking produces behaviors in you that actually repels people.
People are drawn to positive things. When your thoughts are focused on Jesus and what He has done for you, joy will overflow from your life and people will want to be around you.
Self-centered thoughts limit your world while God-centered thoughts increase your world.
Replacing negative thoughts with God's word is key to improving your life.
