A Craving

As humans, we get cravings all the time for all sorts of things.  They can be good and bad and very insistent.  This weekend I had a craving that I could not control.  I woke up both days this weekend craving God.

Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto [completed] salvation.
                              1 Peter 2:2 Amplified

We were made to love God and be loved by Him.  Nothing else can satisfy or fill that place within us other than Jesus Christ.  God is waiting for us to turn to Him, seek Him, and get to know Him.

I knew my craving this weekend was from God and His message to me was very simple.  At first I wasn't going to share it but as I am writing this now, I feel someone somewhere needs a reminder.

We, as believers, have been made alive in fellowship and union with Jesus Christ by God's grace and mercy not by our own efforts or intentions.  We deserve nothing and yet God has given us everything.  Why would God be so extravagantly generous to people so flawed and filthy in sin?

Because He loves us.

How great is God's love for people!

He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the price demanded by sin on our behalf.  He treats each of us as if we are the only one He cares about.  His love for us cannot be measured or contained.

Read 1 Cor. 13:4-8 and know that it is describing how God loves you.

All things pale in comparison to the love God has for His people.
