Embrace Praise

All week we have been talking about embracing what God has given to us.  Today we are going to look at embracing one thing we can give back to God.

Enter His gates with thanksgiving; go into His courts with praise.  Give thanks to Him and praise His name.
                              Psalm 100:4 NLT

Lift up your hands in holiness and to the sanctuary and bless the Lord [affectionately and gratefully praise Him]!
                              Psalm 134:2 Amplified

Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things He does for me.
                              Psalm 103:2 NLT

Praise is more than just a one time event.  It means living aware of all that God has done for us and acknowledging how great and awesome He is.  Think about this for a minute...

The God of the whole universe who hung the sun, moon and stars personally knows you, loves you and takes care of you.  He holds nothing against you and is always willing to help you with whatever you need.  This alone is deserving of praise but God has done so much more than that.

I have been rescued from the sea of insecurity.  Every area of my life has been made better through knowing God.  My relationship with God has improved my vision and hearing not to mention it has completely remodeled my heart.  Instead of being wrapped up in me all the time, He has taught me how to have compassion for others and live each day securely fastened in His life jacket so that I do not drown.

What God has done for me He will also do for you.  Praise is the least we can do in return for all that He has done for us.

Praise includes being thankful and acknowledging and relying on Him.  It means we admire God in our heart and we are grateful for His undivided attention.

For some of you this will be awkward.  Do it anyways.  Turn your admiration from celebrities to God.  Trade in the world's idea of greatness for God's.

Revere God for He is Holy.
Worship God for He is worthy.
Trust God for He is able.
Praise God for He is good.

Embrace praise.  Make it part of your everyday life.
