Embrace Understanding
When Daniel explained the meaning of Nebuchadnezzar's dream, He began by telling the King why he was able to understand the dream in the first place.
...but because God wanted you to understand what was in your heart.
Dan. 2:30 NLT
The Amplified says it this way:
...that you may know the thoughts of your heart and mind.
Dan. 2:30
Either way, it is clear, God wants us to understand what is in our hearts and on our minds. He does not want us wandering around chasing false ideas or trying to be someone we are not.
God wants us to see ourselves as we truly are and not according to what people have said about us. This is not to condemn us but to help us grow.
You cannot fix what is broken if you don't know there is a problem.
Knowing there is a problem is the beginning of finding a solution.
When we recognize ungodly behavior or thoughts in ourselves, we can turn immediately to God and ask for mercy and help to change (Prov 1:23).
God helps us to understand ourselves by enabling us to see what is going on within us. In this process, God is able to assist us in recognizing our need for change and for Him.
Embrace understanding by looking at what is in you.
