Where's Your Trust?
I do something called My One Word. It is a year long program designed to help you grow in one area. This year my one word is trust. When my Pastor talked about complaining being a sign of not trusting God, it caught my attention.
Trust is one of those things that is very hard for a lot of people to give. We have learned the hard way that people are very fickle and few can really be trusted with our heart. But God is different. He is like no other.
With God, you get exactly what you expect from Him. Here are a few examples:
- If you believe God does not listen to you when you pray, then He won't.
- If you believe God won't help you through something, then He won't.
- If you believe God cannot heal you, then He won't.
The opposite is also true.
- If you believe God listens to your prayers, then He does.
- If you believe God works everything out for your good, then He does.
- If you believe God can heal you, then He does.
We all go through tough times where we don't understand what has happened and we feel abandoned and alone. I can remember many times saying to God, "Lord, I don't feel like You're in this with me but nevertheless, You word says You are and I refuse to trust my feelings over Your word."
In Matt. 8:5-13 is the story of the centurion who came to Jesus to ask for the healing of His servant boy.
Then to the centurion Jesus said, "Go; it shall be done for you as you have believed." And the servant boy was restored to health at that very moment.
Matt. 8:13 Amplified
The centurion got exactly what he believed he would get. We do too. God gives us what we believe.
What do you expect God to do in your life? What do you believe He is doing for you right now? I'd love to hear your answers.
Keep your trust in God alone.
