Door to Your Heart
We have talked this week about openness and I'll probably still be talking about it some next week. My life is opening up in ways I had not anticipated and I can see a correlation with me opening up to God and really trusting Him and all the new opportunities He is bringing my way.
Your heart is the deepest and most intimate part of you. From it, the whole course of your life is impacted and the Bible tells us to guard it carefully.
Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.
Prov. 4:23 Amplified
Our heart is where we keep all that we hold dear. It is like our treasure chest, if you will. What we keep in our heart is not only priceless but it is also the reason why we make the choices we do.
What we truly believe, we keep in our hearts.
It took me many years to really give Jesus all of my heart. I had been hurt too many times by people to trust anyone with all of it. So for a long time I only gave part of me to Jesus. He has been so good and patient with me and He has shown me that although I may not trust other people with all of my heart, I can trust Him.
God tenderly holds our heart in His hands when we let Him.
We were made to love and be loved by God. Our heart is the object of His desire. There is nothing more beautiful to God than our heart. There is also nothing in this world that can satisfy the longing of our heart for love and acceptance. Only God can fill that need.
I have found that the more I have given of my heart to God, the more love, joy, and peace He has given me. When I set my heart on trusting Him, God gives me greater strength and wisdom. When I put my hope in God, He does not let me down. God is never selfish. In fact, He always gives me back a whole lot more than I give Him.
The greatest commandment we have been given is to love God with all our heart. Take some time this weekend to hang out with God and make sure your heart is in His hands.
Give the whole of your heart to God.
