Out of the Way

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest.  [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]
                              Matt. 11:28 Amplified

I love this verse!  It always reminds me of the pure bliss and peace that is found only in God's presence.  I've needed that lately.

For the first time in a long time, I actually felt the stress and pressure that comes with getting ready for Christmas and in addition to that work was also stressful.  I found myself fretting about "doing everything."

As I talked to God about it, I realized that sometimes (OK, probably more than I care to admit) I make things more difficult for myself than they are meant to be.  In doing this, I actually get in God's way!

I tend to make my own rules for my life and when I'm not able to adhere to those rules, I beat myself up.  These rules are not bad but they are not from God.  So God reminded me that His way is easy and His burden is light.

I can relieve the stress and pressure in my life by letting go of 'my way' and letting God have His way.

Let God be first in your life by getting out of His way.
