I Love You
Who gave (yielded) Himself up [to atone] for our sins [and to save and sanctify us], in order to rescue and deliver us from this present wicked age and world order, in accordance with the will and purpose and plan of our God and Father.
Galatians 1:4 Amplified
There are several things about this verse that have occupied my mind all weekend. Here is the same verse again with my highlights followed by some simple take away nuggets that I hope help you.
Who gave (yielded) Himself up [to atone] for our sins [and to save and sanctify us], in order to rescue and deliver us from this present wicked age and world order, in accordance with the will and purpose and plan of our God and Father.
1. Jesus gave Himself.
He chose to pay the debt of our sin to save us from eternal separation from God and to cleanse us from all our sin makings us pure and holy.
2. Jesus saves and rescues us.
He removed the authority that evil had over us and severed the chains that bound us to the world's way of living so we could live freely in the love of God
3. It has always been God's plan for us to live close to Him.
He wants us to live with Him, sharing our everyday life issues, cares, and joys with Him.
4. God's purpose for our lives is that we would accept all that Jesus has done for us.
God wants us to accept that Jesus is always with us and we are always with Him. He never leaves our side.
5. God wants us.
We can come to God just as we are with all our problems, hurts, and dreams.
The only way to experience the fullness of God's love for us is to take Him at His word and honestly share our heart and our lives with Jesus.
What are you holding back? What do you think God can't or won't help you with? What are you trying to hide from Him? Let go and let Jesus have all of you. It's what He wants most.
There is nothing that can remove or decrease God's great love for you.
