Life of Love
As I prepare to head home I have been looking back at how Jesus has moved in my life this week and taught me so much about living a life of love. There are two primary take away things that I want to live out in my life.
One, is to not judge anyone based on hearsay or their appearance. It has become most clear to me that each and every one of us is a work in progress. Each of us have our own set of issues to deal with and we all are responsible for making our own choices and decisions.
We have no business judging each other because we don't know what the other person is dealing with or what they have been through.
Instead of focusing on what others have or are doing we need to stay focused on doing the best we can to live with Jesus Christ. In living with Him, we are to treat each other like He treats us. Which brings me to the second thing I am taking away from this week.
Mercy is to replace judgment.
Forgiveness is to be repeatedly given (Matt. 18:22). Mercy is ours to give just as freely as it has been given to us.
Forgiveness is one of the characteristics of love. To love like Jesus means that instead of judging each other, we extend mercy and help and encourage each other as we make our way through life in this world.
... And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God?
Micah 6:8 Amplified
Jesus loves us and in loving us, He continually forgives us and never judges us.
A life of love is marked by mercy and free from judgment.
