Abandoned

Jesus on the cross cries out to God -

My God, My God, why have You abandoned Me [leaving Me helpless, forsaking and failing Me in My need]?
                              Matt. 27:46 Amplified

We all have times when we feel like God is not with us and He doesn't care about us.  But the truth is that God IS always with us.

Our perception of God's lack of action or concern does not mean that He doesn't care about us or that He isn't doing something for us.

Regardless of what our emotions say - as born again believers in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit (the very Spirit of God Himself) dwells in us.  He is there all the time.  It is our choice to acknowledge His presence and let Him lead us out of misery and heartbreak.

Jesus told us that we would face hurts and struggles in this world (John 16:33).  He also promised that He will live with us (John 15:4) and the Spirit of God will be our Comforter, our Strength, and our Helper (John 15:26) in every situation we face.

Refuse to let yourself get discouraged no matter what happens.  God has a plan and a purpose for you and whether you can see it at the moment or not does not change anything.

Live by God's promise to work ALL things out for your good in your life (Rom. 8:28).

Rise above your feelings by trusting God's promise to never leave your side.
