Say Nothing

When Jesus was taken into custody, tortured, and tried, He did not argue back or defend Himself.  When He was taunted and teased, He said nothing.  What a great example for us to follow.

We all face times of persecution and harrassment.  These moments are very intimidating and painful but the greatest thing we can do is keep our mouths shut just like Jesus did.

               He who guards his mouth preserves his life, but he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.
                              Prov. 13:3 NKJ

By not retaliating with hateful and sarcastic words we leave open the door for Jesus to defend us and we skip the serving of humble pie that follows rash words.

At first staying silent will seem near impossible but don't give in to the temptation to say anything.  Look at how Jesus used His life to prove His accusers wrong.  He didn't argue back when ridiculed or say anything rude.  Instead He let His life prove them wrong.

The way we live has more impact than our words in these situations.

Be like Jesus.  Say nothing.  Let other people flap their trap while you live your life in such a way that their accusations prove to be false. 

The feeling we get to defend ourselves is a trick that will cause us to speak without thinking.

Refuse to let the words of others provoke you.
