Express Yourself

I had planned on posting about marriage today but Jesus really wants me to encourage you to express yourself.

Each person is made in the image of God with different skills, gifts, and talents.  Too many people don't enjoy their lives because they spend their time trying to be like someone else instead of who they were made to be.  In addition, there are many people who criticize anyone who is different from them.  This is not how people were meant to live.

Forget about deciding what's right for each other.  Here's what you need to be concerned about: that you don't get in the way of someone else, making life more difficult than it already is.
                              Rom. 14:13 Message

Instead of trying to push our beliefs on each other we need to live respectfully along side one another.  Jesus gave people the choice to follow Him.  When they chose not to, He let them go.  It saddened Him but He did not argue with them or criticize them.

There is the old saying, "Don't judge someone until you have walked a mile in their shoes."  How true this is!  We all have our own life we are to live with Jesus and that we are responsible for.  It has enough cares and concerns in it that we should not spend what time we have comparing ourselves to each other.

We were made to live with people and with Jesus as part of everyday life.  Just as God used different people with different skills and talents to help Moses build His santuary, we are to explore and utilize our abilities to help improve our lives and the lives of other people.

Cultivate your own relationship with God, but don't impose it on others.  You're fortunate if your behavior and your belief are coherent.
                              Rom. 14:22 Message

Spend some time this weekend reading Romans chapter 14 and ask Jesus to help you live freely in His love without inhibiting others.

Through Christ you learn who you are so you can express yourself.
