Revive Your Heart
The humble shall see it and be glad; you who seek God, inquiring for and requiring Him [as your first need], let your hearts revive and live!
Psalm 69:32 Amplified
Our hearts were made for God. That longing that we carry in it to be loved and accepted can only be satisfied by Him. Before you start to argue that you can find it in another person let me remind you that people are imperfect. In every relationship you have with another person you will be hurt and you will cause hurt. God cannot do that because He is perfect and He only does what is in our best interest (Rom 8:28).
We can revive the passion in our heart by constantly reminding ourselves that God loves us and we need Him.
There is nothing that we can do on our own that will keep our hearts content and fulfilled. Jesus told the woman at the well that He is the only source of eternal fulfillment.
But whoever takes a drink of the water that I will give him shall never, no never, be thirsty anymore. But the water that I will give him shall become a spring of water welling up (flowing, bubbling) [continually] within him unto (into, for) eternal life.
John 4:14 Amplified
Jesus satisfies and refreshes our soul. Our daily relationship with Him keeps our heart revived not just for today but for all eternity.
