Commit - Psalm 37

We all have issues or concerns.  There are things that we just have to deal with and there are things that we have to let God handle.  But the great news is that in all these things we have a loving God who cares about us and He wants to help us.

Commit your way to the Lord [roll and repose each care of your load on Him]; trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) also in Him and He will bring it to pass.
                              Psalm 37:5 Amplified

It is always so much easier to talk about relying on God when life is going smoothly.  But when stuff is going on, it's hard to let God handle it without getting in His way.

Taking our concerns to God is not a one time fix.  Thoughts will reappear on the topic until the situation is resolved.  This will require us to repeatedly say, "No I have done all I can do and God, I am letting You take care of the rest."

When my thoughts keep bringing something up, it causes me to become anxious and to worry.  I have found that I have to talk to myself and to God in these situations and specifically delineate what is my responsibility and what is His.  Then any time a thought comes up about something that is in His hands, I can let it go by thinking on purpose about something else.

Notice in the verse above that it says to take "each care" to the Lord.  God is not concerned with our perceptions of the situation.  How big or small the concern is in our eyes does not in any way change God's ability to take care it.  He does not ask us to sort through our concerns and give Him only the big ones.  He asks us to bring them ALL to Him.

Now if you are wondering why God cares about what you care about, it is simply because He loves you.  He wants to help you and He can, if you let Him.

You can share anything you carry in your heart with the Lord and He will take care of it.  You can count on Him to always do what is best for you.

Commit everything you do to the LORD.  Trust Him, and He will help you.
                              Psalm 37:5 NLT

God is our ever present help in time of need.  He never leaves our side and anything we care about is important to Him.

Commit your life to God, talk to Him about everything and He will help you.
