New Day

This was my view across the lake this morning as I ran.  The sun was beginning to peek over the horizon and all I could think was, "today is a new day."

               This is the day which the Lord has brought about; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

                              Psalm 118:24 Amplified

Today only has room for today.  What ever happened yesterday cannot be redone and tomorrow has it's own issues.  All we have is this one day.

So what are you going to do with it?  How will you spend it?  What will you say today?  What will you think? 

You cannot hold on to what has passed without limiting your today nor can you anchor yourself to tomorrow.  You have been given THIS day to live and enjoy.  It is a gift from God given with the promise that no matter what happens He has given you the strength to handle it.

Here is a short list of things you can do with today:

Choose to your thoughts wisely.  

Set your mind on living an abundant life WITH Jesus. 

Refuse to accept offense of any kind. 

Embrace the fruit of the Spirit and put them on like clothing. 

Acknowledge God's constant presence with you by leaning on His help in all you do. 

Receive mercy from God and take His help - really make them yours.

Take a few moments throughout your day to thank God for all He has done for you.

Today is a new day.  Rejoice in the goodness of God and thank Him for all He has done for you.

               Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever!

Be thankful for this new day as it is a gift from God.
