The Cross is Enough 2
Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy]. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.
Isaiah 53:4, 5 Amplified
Every sin we have or will commit cost Jesus pain, sorrow, and suffering. We talked yesterday about Jesus understanding our hurts and sicknesses but today we see that He actually took them on Himself in order to free us from them. Jesus has taken every insult and all our pain for us. We don't have to carry them.
The purpose of the Law in the Old Testament was to prove to us that we cannot overcome our sinful nature alone. We need the blood of Jesus to completely cover and erase our sin. Only His blood can break the generational iniquities passed on to us from our earthly families. Only His blood can heal the wounds we inflict on ourselves and others through sin.
Jesus separates our sin from us so that we can have and enjoy life with God.
By His blood we are healed, made whole and holy. Jesus was wounded for every sin we commit. He was tortured and beaten to the point that He no longer even resembled a man. Every abuse you have suffered, Jesus has suffered. Why would He do that? Why would someone take the pain and illnesses of others when they had done no wrong themselves? I can tell you why Jesus did it... because He loves you. Because God loves you. And He does not want you to suffer or hurt alone. He wants you to know that in all situations He loves you, He knows how you hurt, He knows how you have hurt others and yet He loves you more than His own life.
Many people miss out or misunderstand the power of Jesus' blood when it comes to our health. I have seen people miraculously healed from all kinds of sicknesses and I have seen people die believing in the healing that we are promised by the blood of Jesus but either way I still believe that we are healed of all sickness and disease by the blood of Jesus.
The Bible promises that we have been healed from all illnesses by the blood of Jesus. I do not need to see it with my eyes in order to be convinced it is true. I simply choose to accept God's word at face value knowing that in all things that He has a plan and a purpose. In other words, I choose to believe what God says over what I see.
Anything that can keep us apart from God has been washed away by the blood of Jesus.
