The Pursuit of a Lifetime

Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened.

Matthew 7:7-8 Amplified

God is always with us, always watching over us and always working things out for our good. Most of the time we are not even aware of His attention to the details of our lives. Even when we cannot 'feel' Him with us, He is still there and still listening.

We usually equate our sense of feeling God's presence with Him listening but that is not true. God NEVER leaves us and those times when we feel like He is not listening are the times that we need to keep seeking, keep asking, and keep knocking. We miss a lot when we give in to our emotions and stop pursuing God because we don't feel His presence.

Our emotions are a part of us just like our minds, our body, and our will. We need to take care of them not let them run wild and control us. God has given us a mind and He wants us to use it to live according to what we know is true.

Our pursuit of God will last our entire life on this earth. Not a day will go by that we will not have to purposely seek Him, ask Him something, or knock on His door and today's verses is our promise that He does and will hear us, He will answer us, and He will open the door and let us in.

Our guaranteed victory is more than enough of a reason for us to keep God first in our lives and to actively pursue Him every single day.

Live God first.
