Hopeful

There are a lot of hopeless people in the world and I used to be one of them.  I was so insecure and afraid that I thought I could never do anything good or valuable.  My thoughts focused on what a failure I was.  My heart was miserable all the time and as a result, I would be critical and short tempered with everyone.  All this was because my hope was focused on my ability to fix things instead of in God.

Return to the stronghold [of security and prosperity], you prisoners of hope; even today do I declare that I will restore double your former prosperity to you.
                              Zech. 9:12 Amplified

Hope in God is the foundation of a faithful life.  Hope is powerful.  It will protect us from any attack the devil launches against us and it keeps us open to receive all the promises of God.

I still remember the first time I ever read Hebrews chapter 11.  I call it the hope chapter because it talks about the successes of all the people who put their hope in God instead of being convinced by their circumstances to quit.  Sarah had a child when she was in her 90's, Moses was kept alive and led God's people out of Egypt, and Rahab and her family were kept safe when the walls of Jericho came down.

There is no situation that God cannot handle.  There is nothing too big or too difficult for Him.  God can take care of you and everything you are concerned about but He wants you to look to Him for help.  He wants you to rely on His ability instead of your own.

God has promised that if we put our hope in Him instead of ourselves or other people, He will restore all that we have lost.  By keeping our hope in God, we are not only protected by Him but we will we will live securely in His hands and experience the benefits of all His promises.

The result of hoping in our own abilities will always result in failure and disappointment but when we put our hope in God and what He can do, everything changes.

All things are possible with God.

We can do anything when we hope in God to help us.

Choose today to put your hope in God.
