Tell Me About It

I don't know about you but when I am trying to sort through an idea or concern, I like to run it by someone else.  This is especially true when I have something that has hurt or upset me.  Finding the right person to talk to when the going gets rough and things don't make sense is not easy.

I don't want to talk to someone who won't listen without interrupting and will run around telling other people what I've said.  Neither do I want someone who can't understand what I am going through or who will dwell on only the negative or discouraging side of the situation.  And most definitely I don't want someone who won't be honest in providing feedback (notice I said feedback not advice).  So what kind of person do I want to talk to when I'm working through something?

Well, I want someone who can understand me and where I am coming from, someone who will let me talk without judging me or being critical of anyone else involved.  I want someone who genuinely cares about me and wants me to grow without any hidden motives or agendas.

Is there such a person?  Yes, there is.

My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.”  And my heart responds, “LORD, I am coming.”
                              Psalm 27:8 NLT

Jesus wants us to bring everything to Him and I don't just mean a quick, "Lord I give you this situation." as you run out the door to talk to your friend.  He actually wants us to sit down with Him and talk to Him as if we could see Him sitting there with us.  I have to admit that it is awkward talking to Someone you cannot physically see but I can promise you that the rewards of doing it anyway are well worth it.

The Bible says that Jesus suffered in every way known to man so He really does understand everything we go through.  He knows what it's like to be mistreated, lied about, abused, and taken for granted.  There is no one better than Christ to share all our concerns and issues with.

When we take our problems or confusion to Jesus, He not only listens and understands but He has the power to help us handle the whole thing with unlimited wisdom.  And He can give us that power so we can do the right thing in God's eyes instead of acting out our feelings and emotions.

Jesus understands our dreams and desires better than we do.  He can see more of a situation than anyone else can and He will always help us when we ask.  We don't have to worry about waking Him up because He never sleeps.  Jesus is never to busy to talk about anything big or small.  Whenever you have a moment for Him, He is there.

The more you talk to Jesus, the more He talks back to you.  He is the greatest Teacher ever.  He can bring correction without condemnation and truth without judgment.  He will help you understand and make peace with anything, if you let Him.

Make time to talk to Jesus about everything and anything before you talk to another person.

Jesus is asking you to "Tell Me about it."
