But as for me, my prayer is to You, O Lord.  At an acceptable and opportune time, O God, in the multitude of Your mercy and the abundance of Your loving-kindness hear me, and in the truth and faithfulness of Your salvation answer me.
                              Psalm 69:13 Amplified

God does not always answer our prayers in the way we expect Him to.  His view of our lives and our concerns is different than our view.  Our character and faith mature when we learn and live by the truth that God knows best.  By purposefully trusting God when things are spiraling out of control, we will develop the habit of trusting Him to work all things out for our good.

I go to God several times a day telling Him my issues and my point of view about the situations in my life and then I ask Him to what is best for me from His point of view.  I still tell God what I think and feel but I also acknowledge that He has greater knowledge of the situation and I trust Him to take care of me.

Knowing God's ways are different from our ways is the first step to actually letting Him lead and guide us.

In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.
                              Prov. 3:6 NKJ

God's ways are not our ways but we can rest assured that He will never lead us into failure or destruction.  His plan for our life is to give us the power and strength we need to live in this world and simultaneously allow His beauty to radiate out of our entire being.  God promises to never leave us nor forsake us.  He is committed to blessing us and helping us mature in Him.  Everything that God does or allows in our lives is for our benefit.  Even when tragedy strikes and we can't make sense of anything - God has a plan.

In the midst of our frustration when things don't go our way, it can be difficult to wait for God's answer to our prayers.  But I promise you and even better, He promises you that He will answer them.  God does have a plan and at the right time He will bring it to pass and it will be the perfect plan for you.

We will not always get our way.  God can see what is ahead of us and He wants to help prepare us for things to come.  He has given us His word to use our strength, wisdom, peace, and comfort.  Our Bibles contain everything we need to live the abundant much more life God wants us to have but the only way we will get it is to read and study His word and then we must obey it.

We cannot claim the promises of God without obedience to His ways.

Talk to God constantly.  Share with Him what's on your mind and in your heart.  Rely on His wisdom instead of your friend's and hold on to His promises.  Remind yourself that God will answer you and His answer to your prayers will always work out for your good.

God has your best interest at heart.  Allow Him to bring it to life.
