How to Handle Change

My life is changing. Maybe it's my new "one word." Maybe it's the new year. Maybe it's my new job. Maybe it's my new role in Celebrate Recovery. Whatever it is - every area of my life including my thoughts and emotions are undergoing changes.

To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven.
                              Eccl. 3:1 Amplified

With God, there are no coincidences.  Everything happens for a reason.  There is a plan and a purpose for all the things we go through, even and especially, when they are painful and we don't understand them.

Learning to stay calm and peaceful in the midst of change is worth the effort it takes.  As I sit here now I am amazed at how much God has helped me overcome and adapt to changes.  I would not be where I am though, if I had not asked for God to help me through.

No matter what you are facing, it is important for you to keep moving forward.

The Bible reminds us to keep God first in all we do and this is vitally important in times of change.  Some changes we can plan and prepare for but many will catch us off guard.  It is important to go to God first with our opinions and desires for that situation.  He will guide us safely through the situation giving us the wisdom and intuition to make good decisions.  Jesus promises us rest, peace, and strength if we rely on Him to help us through.

Jesus is with you.  He never leaves your side.  If you need His help with something, ask for it.  He is waiting and willing and able to help you.

We cannot escape change but we can miss out on God's wisdom and strength to handle it if we don't ask for His help.
