Never Too Old

Yes, even when I am old and gray-headed, O God, forsake me not, [but keep me alive] until I have declared Your mighty strength to [this] generation, and Your might and power to all that are to come.
Psalm 71:18 Amplified

This Psalm speaks about our service to God as a life long journey. From before we are born until the end of our earthly lives, if we will obey Him, God will use us to shine His light in this dark world and help others.

The Bible says that the promises of God are for "whosoever will." That means any one, any where can live with God, enjoy His presence, and be a reflection of His great love for His people. We all have a story to tell about how God has transformed our lives and enabled us to do things we never thought possible. Our stories were meant to be shared so that those coming after us may find hope to press in and press on.

God wants us to share our experiences with one another to help us keep our hope in Him. It is easier to get discouraged and quit when we feel like we are alone in our struggles. Hearing the stories of others who have been in similar situations encourages us to keep moving forward.

Each one of us has a place in Christ's body and our life stories help us reveal the unlimited power of our ever loving heavenly Father. We all have something valuable to share and contribute to the body of Christ.

As I've gotten older, I have found myself saying that I am too old to do something that I think I would enjoy. But I don't think God uses age as a disqualifier. As I look at today's verse I find hope that God will use anyone at any age if they are willing.

God never stops using us.
