No New Feelings
Every person in the world experiences suffering and tough times. As believers in Jesus Christ, we are particularly appetizing to our enemy, the devil. He hates any kind of goodness or happiness and he delights in our misery.
The devil will use isolation to wear us down and discourage us. He tries to convince us that no one else understands us or cares about us. But that is not true!
Through the ages and all over the world, there has been suffering and abuse of all kinds. Based on the emotional impact, nothing we experience today is new. There are no new feelings to be discovered. Whatever your emotions are saying to you in your situation, someone else has felt the exact same way.
Knowing that someone else has felt what I'm feeling, gives me hope and strength. It helps me refuse the thoughts that I am all alone.
Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.
1 Peter 5:9 NLT
When we come under attack our victory is guaranteed when we stand firm in our faith because Jesus has already defeated the devil for us. People have gone before us with the same suffering we feel and they set examples for us to follow.
There is only one way to get through struggles and that is to keep moving forward. Don't stop. Don't quit. Look to Jesus for help and strength just as those who have gone before you. Testimonies are built as we walk with Christ through the tough times. He promises us the victory if we stay with Him.
God's promises are stronger than your feelings. Your feelings will change but God's word never does. Don't rely on your feelings. Instead, put your trust in God's word.
Persevere by faith. When you think no one understands remind yourself that Jesus does. Refuse to let go of His promises.
